Collecting Dolls

Hard To Find Now Disney Character Dolls

I have always wanted to have a complete collection of all the Disney movies characters that Disney ever created dolls for. I have the "Sleeping Beauty's" Aurora life-size Disney princess doll as well as the "Snow White", and Ariel of "The Little Mermaid" , Cinderella, the Prince Charming of Cinderella, Belle from "The Beauty and the Beast" and her handsome prince, Prince Phillip, and so many others from the wonderful and magical stories created by Disney for the young ones, and even the grown-ups who remain young at hearts.

However, there are some Disney character dolls which are a hard find nowadays. Any Disney doll collector would not want to have a missing link in his chain of collections, but what is bothering is it has really been difficult looking for some of the Disney Character dolls that Disney has released. This includes getting reversible suits and frills, or even receiving costume gift sets which include that of Cinderella's filthy rag dress which her fairy godmother turned into a beautifully elegant blue gown for the ball. What a miss I truly regret is the Briar Rose outfit of Sleeping Beauty, as well as the costumes for the Wicked Stepmother of Cinderella as well as the outfit of Cinderella's Fairy Godmother.

Another very difficult to spot outfit designed and released by Mattel Toy Company in 1991, are the clothes that Cinderella and her Prince Charming used when they were released as the first two ever Disney Dolls in the collected works of the "Disney Classics". I would love to have that red slacks made from suede cloth worn by Cinderella's Prince Charming in the movie Cinderella. It is accentuated with gold lines streaked down the side layers, and with the front closed using Velcro and not zips. It goes with the familiar white uniform jacket made of suede cloth. It has gold braiding on it, a nicely standing collar, a handsome belt, and some gold fairy dust, of course, the Prince's shoes. What is more, the set goes with a blue pillow covered in satin cloth, where the glass slippers are laid and sewn to the blue satin pillow. There is even a tiny blue locket made of plastic tied to a blue bow featuring the portrait of Cinderella upon opening its sparkly front.

Truly, when you are so passionate about doing something you really love and you just cannot seem to complete it, it may be a little disheartening sometimes to go on, such as collecting your favorite dolls. Do not despair for there are always auctions and offers in the Internet for what you might just need!
