How to Put Value on Your Antique Dolls
Boy, am I lucky to have inherited antique dolls from my grandmother! My friends say I could sell or auction them
online and make something out of the dolls. Really, I have inherited a boatload of dolls from my grandmother as she
was so fond of collecting various kinds of dolls. Since that time that she was unmarried and she traveled to so
many different places, she would make it a point to always find at least one traditional doll from each country.
All those collections of dolls were passed on to me by my mother. Yes, am I not lucky!
Evaluate your Antique Dolls
However, selling or auctioning one's doll collectibles is not an easy job. First, you must study the condition or
the physical status of your dolls since this will absolutely be the gauge if your dolls will be sold swiftly or
not. Or it may serve as the parameter to measure the value or worth at which price you can sell each doll. Doing so
will tell you at what value you should charge for them to be sold fast.
Prepare Antique Dolls for Selling
Therefore, it is best to make sure that your antique collectible dolls are not filthy or stinky, (you know that old
kind of smell of old stuffs), or that they are wearing their original or traditional costumes beefed up with
matching accessories to bring your price to a higher stake.
One helpful tip though is to present the doll in its original box if it is still available so as to elevate
their prices. But then again, it is always a matter of how old is the doll, or how rare or common the doll you are
selling, and how the universal demand for such a specific antique doll is. As for the vintage dolls, most
especially if you have the porcelain dolls, the price at which they can be sold greatly depends on the artist who
made it. The more popular the artist who created the porcelain doll, the more expensive the antique porcelain doll
becomes.
Classify Antiques if Rare or Common
Of course, the element of being a "limited edition" will always count when pricing an antique doll to sell.
Naturally, it goes without saying that antique dolls produced in big volumes will cost lower than those produced in
limited numbers. Even the fashion styles taken on by each antique doll could be a factor in determining the price
at which the doll could be sold. All these you should consider before finally launching your antiques into the
market! That way, you're sure to get your price!
