Home Remedies for Yeast Infection

Women experience a yeast infection. This occurs whenever there is an overgrowth of yeast in a woman's vital organ and things could get worse if a fungus called Candida Albicans is present. The good news is that there are home remedies for this which can be found in your own kitchen.

A yeast infection can be controlled by using apple cider vinegar. Apply a small amount of this on a cotton ball. You will feel a slight sting afterwards. This can be countered by mixing this with some garlic. Apple cider vinegar will smell but you can take care of this with some water.

Yogurt is another home remedy you can try on your vital organ. You can apply this directly on the affected area or put this on a tampon. This should be applied twice a day. If you don't have yogurt, try using curds instead.

Another mixture using some ingredients found at home consists of olive leaves, grape fruit seed extract and water. When it is ready, get a cotton ball and apply it over the affected area.

Raw garlic juice can also be used. You can apply this directly by pouring some on your fingers.

Apart from home remedies, Cranberry pills have proven to be useful against yeast infection. These are available over the counter. The ingredients help the body's immune system fight the fungus from spreading so it is able to reach normal levels.

A yeast infection will not go away overnight regardless of whichever home remedy you decide to use. If symptoms last over a week, you will need to be examined by your doctor.

During this time, avoid having sexual intercourse with your partner because this is a sexually transmitted disease that may affect the other person.

Home remedies for yeast infections do not only treat the problem, they can prevent the infection. By drinking a glass or two of milk a day it can ensure that there will not be an overgrowth of yeast.

You shouldn't wear tight clothes and use scented toiletries. For other tips, consult your doctor on a regular basis because home remedies are not the only way to help prevent or treat a yeast infection.
