House Cleaning Tips

In house cleaning, routine is important

The title says it all. When you are cleaning your house, having some sort of a routine would improve the outcome. Yes, a routine would be nice.

Take your floor for example. You can of course do daily cleaning but if would be wiser to concentrate on cleaning areas of the floor that are passed on more often on a weekly basis. These areas include corridors or hallways, stairs, and of course the kitchen floor. Now, for cleaning floors you will need some vacuuming to remove the dust and maybe a dust mop for removing heavy dirt. Depending on your floor type, you might need specific kinds of vacuum to maximize cleaning.

While you're cleaning the areas where your family steps on the most, you can do some monthly cleaning for the rest of the floor. Floor covered by your furniture should be cleaned at least quarterly. Carpets, however, needs to be professionally-cleaned every 8 or 12 months for proper maintenance.

Part of your daily cleaning routine should include the kitchen countertops which you should always disinfect. You cook your food in your kitchen and having a clean one is one of your priorities. You can clean the rest of your kitchen appliances, cabinets, and cupboards on a weekly basis.

You bathroom's sink should also be cleaned daily while the rest, like the shower doors, toilet, tiles, etc. Your shower curtain can be cleaned quarterly or if you're a little obsessive about it, monthly cleaning would do.

Keeping a clean laundry area is also a good aspect of a clean home. It would be best if you have some sort of container where you can put your laundry. While you're at it, why not have several laundry baskets so you can already separate the colored, whites, heavily stained clothes and delicates when you're sorting your dirty clothes. You can put off doing the laundry, ironing and sorting of clean clothes weekly.

If you have children, then including your kids room on your daily list of things to clean would be ideal. Children will make all sorts of mess and you should be there to clean up after them. However, as they grow older they should be able to do the tidying up themselves.

Creating your own daily, weekly, and even monthly house cleaning routine can help you manage your time better resulting to having some free time to do other things.
