Thrift Shopping: Tips to Buy Inexpensive Designer
Clothes
Have you ever dreamed about owning an Armani suit? Or have you ever wanted to buy that black Prada dress you
always wanted? Well, you don't really need to be a millionaire in order to purchase designer clothes and
accessories. All you need to do is go thrift shopping.
You will be surprised to see that there are literally thousands of designer clothes available for sale in
Salvation Army and Goodwill stores as well as other thrift stores. Here, you will be able to find an Armani suit
for less than $20.00. If you're lucky enough, you might even find one under $2.00.
However, you do need to keep in mind that these designer clothes may be in thrift stores for one reason or
another. Although some were just donated by rich people who considered them as out of fashion, you still do need to
remember that designer clothes are still susceptible to damage.
If you find something you like, always remember to carefully examine it for flaws. Stains are one of the most
common reasons why previous owners donated these very expensive clothes. So before you pay for that Prada dress in
a thrift store that perfectly fits you, be sure that there are no stains or you may just end up paying for
something you will just use in your house as a rag. That is unless you want a designer rag.
You also need to watch out for cuts on clothing. Some people get the pants cut off because they are too long
while other people cut the sleeves off in order to convert it into a mid or short sleeve length.
Also watch out for any repairs made on the clothing you wish to purchase. Some are so well done that it won't be
noticeable until it's too late. So, make sure that you examine every inch of the fabric in order to be sure that
there are no signs of repairs made on a tear.
These are some of the things that you need to watch out for whenever you buy in thrift stores for second hand
designer clothing. A seemingly good bargain may turn out to be a waste of your hard earned cash. Even if it is
already cheap, you still need to remember that it's your money that you're spending. Remember these things and you
will be able to get the best deals whenever you go thrift shopping for designer clothes.
